Comfy cosy strawbale cottage

The pig shed to cottage conversion was one of Andrew’s early strawbale construction projects. Utilising the existing slab, the space was transformed into a warm and cosy meditteranean style chalet with open plan living space, a private porch, and two well sized bedrooms.

The Chalet overlooks the paddock which is home to three donkeys and three alpacas, all very friendly and happy to receive a pat or an apple. On the surrounding lawn guinea pigs roam free, so please keep your dog on a leash if it can’t contain its temptations! There is also a trampoline which your children are free to use.

Amenities

The Chalet offers a cosy rustic cottage feel, with open plan kitchen/dining/living area around a woodfire stove. Like in the Dome, the strawbale walls keep the space incredibly insulated, however we do provide logs for the fire for those extra cold nights.

There is a large main bedroom with queen size bed with separate door into the bathroom.

The second bedroom has bunk beds with the lower bunk being a double.

In the lounge room there is a pull out sofa providing extra sleeping space for two if required.

The kitchen is basic yet fully equipped with fridge, microwave, 4 burner gas stove, oven, plus all the normal cooking utensils.

If you’d like to enjoy the nice weather there is also a bbq in the private porch, as well as another woodburner for use in the ‘not so nice’ weather.
